The Story of eTandy
2005
Tandy Electronics was initiated to provide professional support service as a local provider of web hosting and related services in year 2005. Local Hosting service was obtained by PLATINUM ONLINE PRIVATE LIMITED. MTN Networks Pvt. Ltd. (Dialog Axiata PLC) joined with us as our first local business partner on 1st of February 2005. Tandy Electronics promoted email and Internet Packages of MTN and Installed Internet and email facilities for MTN customers.
2007-2008
Developed web sites for different customers considering their requirements and affordability on the service.
2009
More servers were added to our web hosting services in collaboration with our first foreign business partner called “The Planet” based in Texas, USA. on 17th December2009.

2010
Started reselling of domain registration in partnership with PDR Ltd. through publicdomainregistry.com
Specialist knowledge in supporting web designing, developing and hosting were branched to provide quality service for our customers. Two types of hosting were introduced based on customer needs and their affordability on hosting. They are business class hosting and economy class hosting. Business class hosting was for Small to Medium scale business websites and economy class hosting was for individuals who have personal websites.
2011
Search Engine Optimization was taken in to consideration as a new improvement through specialized partners or consultants.
2012
Graphic designing was integrated in to tandy as another branch of our development. We started to design logos, eBooks, Product Manuals, Visiting Cards, Greeting Cards, Brochures’ and flyers.
2013
eTandy blog published its first post on related articles with two writers named Chamil Thushara and Damian Hay.
2014
Cloud Web Hosting was started as a progress in web hosting. Besides that content writing for Company Profiles, Web Sites and Blogs was in the process with the professional writers. The site www.kalutarabodhiya.com was donated with us content written by us.
2015
Our Hosting service was improved for our business class customers with an expanded range of Hosting solutions, in collaboration with a foreign hosting service provider called Host dime using their data centre from15th October 2015. The first 100 customers were reached by that time.
2016
Opened a business premises for Tandy Electronics. Our first office was located at Heenatiyangala Road, Kalutara. Apart from web hosting and related services, we started training and consultancy for small companies on networking and web security. A mini studio was established for Professional Product photography. Free Hosting was provided Students
2017
The concept of Unlimited Web Hosting was introduced in terms of space and band width through our hosting services for our valuable customers. We started to give the consultancy on Social Media Marketing for companies. An Online Payment Gateway Service was established in Partnership with Payhere for convenient online payments.
2018
Introduced a VPS Hosting Product for customers. Content writing for Company Profiles Web Sites and Blogs were further improved with technical writing and relevant consultancy from each field.
2019
Video and Audio Productions were websites according to the requirements of clients with our team of specialists and professionals.
2020
Since our concern is towards a quality service, we want our customers to have all most every supportive service related to web hosting from us. We have 16 Products in total by now.
2021
Re-launches Our website with a brand-new look and feel Tandy Electronics Re launched website, www.etandy.net, with a modern look and feel with improved functionality to enhance customer experience.
